I was delighted to find myself invited to YALC for the second year in a row - and even more so to see the writers I'd be panelling alongside! Being sat next to V.E. Schwab, Ben Aaronovitch, Zen Cho, Dan Vyleta, and with Samantha Shannon chairing, meant that the audience was fit to burst, and made for a thrilling experience.
If you're a fan of YA, but haven't been to YALC, I recommend that you do your best to attend in 2018. The atmosphere is really extraordinary, and you'll find superstars of YA wandering the stands and hand-selling in the bookshop. There's nowhere like it.
Thank you to the organisers for my invitation, to my fellow panelists for a brilliant discussion (marred though it was by my low-brow discussion of occult genitalia), to all the wonderful Penguins for looking after me, and especially to everyone who waited for me to sign their copies of Riverkeep - and the proofs of The Sacrifice Box! I can't tell you how much it means to speak to you all, and to know that you've taken a little piece of my odd mind home with you.
Hope to see you there next year!
